Supplies:
- Shadow box
- Hot glue and glue gun
- Fun cardstock or fabric
- Mod podge or other type of glue
- pencil
- Scissors or other cutting device
- Paint brush to spread the glue around
- Optional: Spray paint
Steps:
1. Open up your shadow box and spay paint any pieces you would like to be a different color or so they match. For my shadow box the frame was black, but the spacers where white. So, I spray painted my frame white so it matched the spacers.
2. Break the spacer frame at all edges.
3. Place the acrylic glass inside the shadow box frame if your pieces will fit with the acrylic in place. I chose a shadow box without a lot of depth, so I could not put my acrylic in. The acrylic will help keep your display items from getting as much dust on them.
4. Measure where you would like to place your spacers and apply hot glue to hold the spacers in place.
5. Align your cardstock against the back piece of your shadow box. Make sure the pattern of the paper is facing in the direction you would like it to be. Then use a pencil to trace the backing onto your cardstock. Cut the cardstock on the lines you just made.
6. Apply Mod Podge to the shadow box backing and place your cardstock down. Make sure to press down the cardstock firmly to the backing.
7. Assemble your picture frame and add your display pieces.
This would be perfect for all kinds of small items you might want to display. I wish I used a deeper shadow box and maybe a little larger as well.
