Supplies for Cricut like machines:

1. Glitter cardstock in at least 2 different colors.
2. Craft glue. I like barely art glue.
3. Sting or ribbon to hang it.
4. HTV
5. Pressing mat.
6. Teflon sheet.
7. Any Cricut machine or other similar machine.
8. My design.

Steps for Cricut type machines:

1. Upload the design to Cricut design space. Make sure everything is to your desired size. If you need to resize the design, then place all pieces on top of each other and size them together. I made the largest piece (wood backing) about 4inches by 2 inches.

2. Hide or delete any items you do not wish to use. Choose a font and add your names or text. I used a none Cricut font called Spring Hills, then made an offset of 0.02. You can see more detail about all of this in my video.

3. Cut out your different pieces of cardstock and HTV. Do not forget to mirror the HTV and place the shiny side (carrier sheet) down on your cutting mat. This may differ depending on the brand of HTV you use. I cut my glitter cardstock on the glitter cardstock setting, more pressure. This may be different for you depending on your type of cardstock you use and your machine.

4. Place light bulb cardstock on pressing mat. Place the weeded out HTV where you would like it to go. Place Teflon sheet over your cardstock to help protect it from the heat.

5. Heat the HTV on a low setting about 280 degrees fahrenheit in 10 second intervals until HTV adheres to the glitter cardstock. You will need to do this a few times, but it is important not to over heat your cardstock. Slowly remove the Carrier sheet.

6. Apply craft glue to silver glitter cardstock and place it on your light bulb. Press it down and allow it to dry.

7. Add your ribbon.

Supplies for Glowforge type machines:

1. Acrylic in different colors. I particularly liked the glitter acrylic. Do not forget to also get a solid white acrylic for the names or text.
2. Wood backer.
3. Ribbon or string to hang it.
4. Glue. I used Gorilla glue.
5. Machine like a Glowforge to cut out the pieces.
6. My design.

Steps for Gowforge type machines:

1. Make any changes to the design you may need, like changing the size (I made mine 4 inches by 2 inches), delete any pieces you do not wish to use, and duplicate any if you want to make multiples. Add names or sayings. The font I used was Spring Hills, but I wanted the lines to be a little thicker, so I made an offset of this font.

2. Cut each piece accordingly. For the glitter acrylic I used my glowforge’s medium red acrylic setting, which is: 165 speed and full (180) power.

3. Remove any protective layers on your pieces.

4. Glue everythin together. I used gorilla glue. I like to start with the silver acrylic first and line it up with the hole. I then glue my colored acrylic layer. Last I add my name or saying.

5. Add a ribbon. I like a little thicker of a ribbon for these personally.

I really love how these turned out. I think both methods would look great on stockings, as a gift tag, or even as an ornament on a tree. You could even string a bunch of them together (with or without the names) and make a garland out of them.

I love the look and shine of the glitter without the mess of it coming off. The Cricut branded glitter cardstock does lose some glitter.
