Supplies for vinyl book marker:

1. Cricut machine or other similar machine.
2. Permanent vinyl in various colors. I used mint, black, and textured metallic gold.
3. Green standard cutting mat.
4. Transfer tape.
5. Weeding tools.
6. Scrapper tool.
7. Acrylic book marker blank.

Steps for vinyl book marker:

1. Size design accordingly. Then use your cutting machine to cut out all the different pieces of vinyl. You can hide or delete any pieces you do not wish to use.

2. Weed out (remove) all the unwanted areas of your designs.

3. Remove the protective film on both sides of your acrylic blank.

4. Place transfer tape over your vinyl and use a scraper tool to varnish it to help it transfer onto the transfer tape. You may also need to use your weeding tool to help hold down edges.

5. Place each layer onto book marker and peel back the transfer tape before applying the next layer.

6. Add the ribbon to your book marker and enjoy.

1. Acrylic book marker blank.
2. DTF sticker.

Steps for DTF book marker:

1. Size your design accordingly.

2. Upload your design into a website that will print your DTF sticker for you.

3. Purchase your DTF sticker and wait for it to arrive. This book marker design only cost a few cents and arrived the next day.

4. Remove the protective layer on the back and front of your acrylic blank.

5. Remove the back transfer layer from your design as you place it on your acrylic book marker.

6. Remove the top plastic layer from your design and rub off any piece of the design that goes over the edge of your book marker.

7. Add the ribbon to your book marker and enjoy.

The DTF book marker looks and feels higher end in my opinion. It was also a lot quicker and easier to apply. You do not even need a Cricut or other similar machine to use/make DTF items. The shipping can be expensive so I recommend ordering several DTF designs at once/in one order to help with shipping costs.

Both book markers turned out really pretty. Now I have to decide which one to use first and if I want to make the other lily book marker. If I make the other book marker what color should I make the flower? Is the black to bold? What color would you make the flower? Also which knot do you like best for the ribbon or is there another way to tie it?
