Supplies:

1. Wood round. I bought mine from Menards.
2. Wood beads. 4 larger (or a candle stick holder) and medium or small beads.
3. If your beads are not on a string, then you will also need some string.
4. Glue. I used gorilla super glue.
5. Blue painters tape.
6. White acrylic paint.
7. Plastic bag.
8. Sponge paint brush.

Steps:

1. Mix your paint with some water and apply to your wood pieces. I put my wood beads in a plastic bag to easily cover them with the watered down paint mixture. I then used a sponge brush to paint the wood round. Apply more layers of paint as desired. If your paint is to thick, then you can wipe it off of your wood while it is still wet to still achieve that white wash look.

2. Spread the beads out as they dry to prevent them from sticking to each other. If they are on a string then move the beads back and forth on the string once they are dry to make sure they do not stick.

3. If beads are not on a string, then string beads through sting on some sort.

4. Use blue painters tape or clips to hold both ends of the string onto your wood round. Apply glue. I worked in small sections. Add tape as needed to hold small wood beads in place as glue dries. I placed my wood beads slightly hanging over the edge of my wood round.

5. Use glue to attach the larger wood beads (or a candle stick holder if you want a taller riser, make sure to paint it as desired) to the bottom of your wood round.

6. Add extra designs if desired, like stencil, stickers, decals, tissue paper with mod podge, hand painted design, or dry brush gold to accent.

I decided to keep my piece plane and simple, but it would also look beautiful with flowers or other elegant designs. I almost added a stencil design to my piece, but I decided not because it would mostly get covered up by what I decide to display on top of my riser. I also was not sure where I wanted to put this riser yet. So, maybe when I decide where it will stay I may add a little detail to match its new location. I may use it to help show off future projects we make.
