Supplies:

1. Printable HTV
   • Avery Printable Heat Transfer Paper for Dark Fabrics
   • Cricut Printable Iron On Vinyl
2. Printer based on the printable HTV you purchased. Most are work for normal ink jet printers.
3. A design to print. I found the fun design I used from Creative Fabrica.
   • Creative Fabrica
   • Witch Design I used
   • Trick or Treat Design
   • Ghost Design
   • Halloween Designs
4. Bag or other fabric to put your design on. Lighter color fabrics with more cotton ideally 100% cotton is best. I purchased mine from a craft store and it was near the Cricut section.
5. Easy press or other heat source.
6. Pressing mat. Old towels can also work.
7. Optional: Teflon sheets (white or brown) or something to cover your fabric so your heat source does not directly touch it.
8. Optional: Scissors or a Cricut machine or other similar machine to trim down your design, but it is not needed. It only makes it easier to work with/place. The extra white areas did not show in the design transfer.

Steps:

1. Measure the size of your bag and size your image accordingly.

2. Print your image on your printable HTV according to the instructions provided. Each brand may vary. My instructions said to mirror my image and to print on the blank white side.

3. Optional: cut down your image either by hand or with a Cricut type machine to make it easier to work with and place. The extra white areas around my design did not show in my finished piece.

4. Place pressing mat inside your bag.

5. Pre heat your bag for about 5 seconds unless other wise stated in your printable HTV instructions.

6. Place your image face down on your bag (or according to your instructions), then cover your bag with a Teflon sheet. I like to always protect my project with a Teflon sheet so my heat source does not directly touch my project. This helps protect both my easy press as well as my project.

7. Press your image according to the instructions provided with your printable HTV. Mine said to apply medium to firm pressure for 30 seconds at 375 degrees Fahrenheit. I found it worked best to remove my design while it was still warm.

My design looked a little faded, but I think that was because of the texture of the bag. I think it would transfer better on a smoother surface. I am still very happy with how it turned out. I think this is a great alternative to sublimation, especially if you will not use a sublimation printer that often. Just remember this works best on 100% cotton and lighter fabrics. It is not for sublimation blanks, which do not contain cotton.
