Supplies:
- Folk Art sugar paint in your choice of colors. I used teal abyss, pink copper, and polar ice.
- Paint brushes. I used sponge brushes, but normal paint brushes should also work just fine.
- Paint pallet or something to put your paint in.
- A vase. Their video showed this paint working on a variety of different surfaces even glass. So, find a vase you like and give it a try. Glass and other smooth surfaces will probably need more coats of paint.
- Leather in your choice of colors.
- Floral wire.
- Hot glue gun and glue. I recommend a glue gun with a thinner detail tip.
- Blue painters tape.
- Cricut machine or other similar machine. You could also cut the flower patterns out by hand.
- Purple strong grip mat.
- Brayer.
- The fine point blade that came with your Cricut machine.
- Scissors, or something to make a small hole in the leather.
- Extra greenery.

Steps:
1. Shake and mix paint well.
2. Apply paint to your vase. You may need to apply multiple coats depending on the material of your vase and the look you want.
3. Cut out your flower templates. For my rose flower I sized everything together till my largest petals were 3.5 inches wide. For the peony flower I sized everything together till my largest petals were 3 inches wide. I decided to use the backing from the rose flower for my peony instead of the leaf options I provided for this flower. You can do this by hand or with a Cricut or other similar machine. For a Cricut machine I used the fine point blade on the setting faux leather (paper thin), then selected more pressure. You want to place your leather pretty side down on your purple strong grip mat. Roll your leather with a brayer tool to insure it is securely on your mat in all areas. Lastly place blue painters tape around all of the edges of your leather to insure it does not move when being cut.
4. For the light pink rose like flower I folded the smallest petal piece so the edge of one petal touched the center of the other petal. Then the edge of that petal touched the center of the other petal. Then with the third petal I just wrapped it wound the others. I then rolled the tips of the petals backwards.
5. For the center of the white peony flower (using the smallest petal piece) I glued the tip of one petal to the tip of the next petal and continued till all the petals were glued to the one next to it.
6. For the rest of the petals for both flowers I applied a little glue in the lower center of each petal and pinched each petal together.
7. Glue the smaller sections inside the larger sections. Continue until all petal pieces have been added.
8. Make a small hole in the greenery leather. Slide your floral wire through this hole and bend it so it sits nicely when it is attached to your flower. The long stem part of the floral wire should be on the nice leather side of your leather.
9. Apply glue to the back side of this green leather piece and place it on the back of your flower. Make sure all the edges are glued down well.
10. Bend and cut down the floral wire as needed.
11. Place flowers and greenery in vase when it is dry.
I absolutely love how these flowers and vase turned out! I instantly found a spot for it in my living room. My husband was very impressed when I showed him. The flowers may not look quite like the flowers I intended them to look like, but I still think they are beautiful. Now what else can I use this fun textured paint on?
