Supplies for Katie’s water color card:

1. Water color paper
2. Cardstock for base of card
3. Water color paint
4. Paint brush
5. Washi tape
6. Double sided tape or glue
7. Small heart shape cookie cutter
8. Marker
9. Optional: Cricut machine or other similar machine

Steps:

1. Use a Cricut machine or other similar machine to cut out your card and the water color paper. You can also cut this out by hand.

2. Use a Cricut machine or other similar machine to write a message inside your card as well as “I love you” (or other sentiment) on the water color paper. If you have nice hand writing, then you can do this by hand without a machine.

3. Place washi tape over the sentiment on the water color paper to protect it from the water color paint.

4. Use small heart shape cookie cutter to help you create the hearts on the water color paper and fill them in. If you like darker colors, then do not use as much water. If you want a more water color and lighter color, then use more water. I went heavy with my color and light with the water.

5. Use a paint brush to fling paint splatter all over your water color paper.

6. Remove your washi tape carefully.

7. Once your water color is dry, apply double sided tape to the back of the water color paper and stick it to the front of your card.

Supplies for Fernando’s pop up photo card:

1. Cardstock
2. Acetate
3. 6 photos that are 2×2 (you only need 4 photos if you decide not to make it as tall so it all fits inside the card)
4. Double sided tape and/or glue dots (glue is not recommended for this project as it might damage the photos)
5. Cricut machine or other similar machine
6. Scoring stylus (all Cricut machines) or scoring wheel (maker machines only)
7. Blue light grip mat or older green standard mats that are not as sticky anymore
8. Green standard grip mat for the acetate
9. Fine point blade, which is the standard Cricut blade that came with your machine

Steps:

1. Use a Cricut machine or similar cutting tool with the scoring tool to crease the fold lines for the

pop-up frames and the Fine point blade to cut out your card base and the pop-up frames

structure.

2. Fold and assemble each photo frame using double-sided tape.

3. Adhere the Acetate squares to the frame using double sided tape.

4. Trim six small 2in x 2in photos to fit in each frame. You can add decorative borders or shapes to

the photos for a creative touch.

5. Adhere the photos to the back of the frames using double sided tape.

6. Use double sided tape to close the top of the frames.

7. Secure the frame base to the inside of the card and then stack the next 2 frames in an alternating

pattern using double-sided tape or glue dots.

8. Add decorative elements to the card front, such as patterned paper, stickers, or embellishments to match the theme of the photos inside.

This was a lot of fun to get my husband involved. He is very creative and it is fun to see what he will come up with. Next time we will add more twists to make it more of a challenge. Let us know which card you liked the best!
